The Ennis Bluebonnet Run explained: distances, registration, and where the money goes
The Ennis Bluebonnet Run is CROME’s community race, held in spring during bluebonnet season in Ennis, Texas. It is a fundraiser first: every entry supports CROME’s scholarships, mentorship and career pathways for students in Ennis and Ellis County.
Which distance is for me?
- 10K: 6.2 miles through Ennis, competitive and chip-timed, with lakefront and prairie scenery.
- 5K: 3.1 miles through Ennis, competitive and chip-timed.
- Fun Run: a 5K run or walk with no timing. Run, jog or walk with friends and family at your own pace.
How do I register?
Registration, the race date, start times and the course map are published on the official Bluebonnet Run website. In 2025, registration opened in January and stayed open online until race day, with early sign-ups guaranteed the full race packet. Check the official site for this year’s dates and pricing.
What do participants receive?
In 2025 every participant received a race day packet with a custom event t-shirt and a finisher medal, and food and snacks were provided free on the day. Details can change from year to year, so treat the official site as the final word.
Where does the money go?
Proceeds go directly to CROME’s programs: scholarships, mentorship and college and career preparation for local students. You can see what your steps support.
