Privacy Policy
Effective September 24, 2026. This policy covers www.cromenonprofit.org, the forms on it, and the anonymous usage analytics it collects.
The Claudio Romero Organization for Minority Empowerment (“CROME”, “we”, “us”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Ennis, Texas. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. Our scholarship application site has its own policy, linked below, because it handles far more sensitive information.
Your analytics choice
Checking your analytics preference…
Information you give us
You can browse this website without telling us who you are. We receive personal information only when you choose to send it:
| When | What we collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Join us application | Name, email address, optional phone number, the role you are interested in, your message, and how you heard about CROME. We also record the submission time, your IP address and browser type to stop spam and abuse. | To review your application and contact you about volunteering, mentoring, sponsoring or partnering. |
| Contact form | Your name, email, topic, message and the page or section that led to the form. | To respond to your question, mentorship interest or partnership idea. |
| Mailing list | Your email, signup page, signup time and the wording you agreed to. | To send CROME program, event and community updates you requested. |
| Email to us | Whatever you include in the message. | To answer you. |
Applications are stored in CROME’s secure member portal, where only authorized CROME staff and board members can see them. We keep applications for as long as we need them to run our programs and meet our record-keeping duties, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Contact requests and mailing-list signups are stored in a private database and available only to authorized portal users. Contacting us does not subscribe you to the mailing list. To leave the list, use our contact form or email us. We use bot verification and hashed request identifiers to limit spam; these forms do not store your raw IP address in the contact record.
Anonymous usage analytics
To learn which pages help visitors and which buttons lead to donations, applications and sign-ups, this website uses Vercel Web Analytics. It counts page views and a small set of actions such as “clicked Donate” or “submitted the Join us form”. It does not use cookies, does not record names, email addresses or anything typed into a form, and strips addresses and query strings that could identify you before anything is sent.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or “do not track” signal, analytics stay off automatically. You can also turn them off for this device using the switch at the top of this page.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-lived server logs that include IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. We use them only to keep the site running and secure. Photographs, published events and mentor profiles are served from our content database (Supabase), which sees the same basic request information.
Where you leave this website
Some actions hand you to a service run by someone else. Each has its own privacy policy that applies from the moment you arrive:
- Donations are processed by GiveLively. We receive your name, email address and gift details so we can thank you and send a tax receipt. We never see full card or bank numbers. Gifts go to the Claudio Romero Organization for Minority Empowerment, a Texas 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 93-4577360), and support its scholarships, mentorship and community programs.
- Bluebonnet Run registration happens on bluebonnetrun.com and its registration provider.
- Scholarship applications are made on our scholarship site, which has its own privacy policy covering account details, essays and financial information.
- Ellis County Scholarships is a free local scholarship hub that CROME runs at elliscountyscholarships.com. It is a separate website with its own privacy policy, which covers the details you give it there.
- Facebook and Instagram are independent websites run by Meta.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share it only with service providers that help us run CROME (hosting, email, payment processing, our content database) under agreements that limit what they can do with it, or when the law requires it.
This website carries no advertising pixels, session recording or chat widgets, and we do not allow other companies to collect information about your activity over time and across different websites when you use it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@cromenonprofit.org.
Children
This website is written for students, families and supporters, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the effective date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be noted on this page for at least 30 days.
